I am so envious of such as Krisna Das with that tradition of sacred song; can't believe our lineages do not have the similar.

I wonder: can you identify the text in this?

I named it Lama Afar because it felt like that sort of supplication, but the file I received was only "cut 8".

It has been used in at least one YouTube video, and a number of people have wondered what the text is.

thanks for this post
and thanks in advance

This is - as you guessed - an invocation to the spiritual teacher sung by Lama Karta... You can find it on a dic called Wisdom & Compassion which may be out of print now... on the off chance, though, it was published by Milan Music 1997 and its number is 74321 52267-2 BM640.
The rest of the disc (some of which is music from 'Little Buddha') is very lovely too.

Thanks kindly ... it's all very lovely indeed.
But my question really did have to do with the "Lama From Afar" supplication I pointed to above.

Mangalam!
